The Effect of Adenosinetriphosphate upon Actomyosin Solutions, Studied with a Recording Dual Beam Light-scattering Photometer

A recording dual beam light-scattering photometer is described which permits kinetic studies involving changes in turbidity, and which is not, as are single photocell instruments, affected by the errors due to the attenuation of the scattered light within the turbid medium. With this method, a renewed study has been made of the physical changes occuring in actomyosin under the influence of ATP.

The direct determination of the number-weighted mean radius and polydispersity from dynamic light scattering data

We compare results for the number-weighted mean radius and polydispersity obtained either by directly fitting number distributions to dynamic light scattering (DLS) data or by converting results obtained by fitting intensityweighted distributions. We find that results from fits using number distributions are angle independent. We find that converting intensity-weighted distributions is not alwa...

Direct determination of the number-weighted mean radius and polydispersity from dynamic light-scattering data.

We compare results for the number-weighted mean radius and polydispersity obtained either by directly fitting number distributions to dynamic light-scattering data or by converting results obtained by fitting intensity-weighted distributions. We find that results from fits using number distributions are angle independent and that converting intensity-weighted distributions is not always reliabl...

Total Intensity Light Scattering from Solutions of Macromolecules

The analysis of total intensity light scattering from solutions of macromolecules is discussed, covering the concentration range from infinite dilution to concentrated solutions, with a few examples for the scattering from colloidal dispersions of particles and micelles. The dependence on scattering angle is included over this entire range. Most of the discussion is limited to the Rayleigh-Gans...
